The Stalljack base was developed for the need to use a stalljack on concrete and asphalt, as a result, it was never taken out of my base. I was tired of trying to find something to use my stalljack in to shoe on hard surfaces.
I found a solid 2" x 6" piece of aluminum. I made feet for each corner and attached them with Allen head cap screws. I put special rubber washers between the base itself and the feet to absorb a certain amount of shock. It ended up working on all surfaces so well, I never had to take it out. It worked great in shed rows, in the stalls and everywhere I shoed.
If I needed an anvil for shoeing saddle horses, I'd take it to the foot and it would save me a tip back to the anvil, if I needed to make any small adjustments. It's one of those things that you won't realize how well it works until you try it. It's made for stalljacks with a 3/4" shaft. I've sold several and a few fellas told me it's the best investment they've made!
